Are there any tricks to getting a feisty UBJ to take grease? Does this mean I need a new UBJ?

i get the same thing with one of mine, the grease just goes all over the grease fitting, I think fitting is bad and just needs replaced. but i'm not sure.

take the grease fitting off, stick a very small wire in the top & see if you can push the little ball in, then flip it over & clean it out, this should solve your problem

we do this quite a bit at work on our equipment often, it's just grit & stuff or hardend grease, you can use brake cleaner to spray it down also or saftey solvent

if that still don't work then replace it

I've had that happen, I wasn't pressing hard enough on the end of the grease gun fitting, or it was at a weird angle from the zerk. It needs to be almost perfectly positioned to get grease in it, at least with my grease gun and JBA upper a-arms. Just a thought before you replace anything...

Take the UBJ and put it in a heavy duty vise and call some goodfellas over and make it happen!

LOL
sounds like the fitting is shot or something is stuck in it.
