So what all is goibng to come with the SFA kit? What else would an above average do it yourselfer have to go out and get to finish the kj off?
Axles,t-case,driveshafts due to the billion different axles you could use,how much wheel base you want to add and total lift/wheel size.We will see about the steering components,tie-rods and drag links will vary depending on axles used, high steer or not and such(such things are easy to get also). There are many ways to go but the major parts of the swap will be in the kit,and this kit will be based off of using full width axles(the HP44 and Ford 9") but can be adapted to just about any axle(though not using full width axles requires the use of coilover's).
Ok, I've been shopping for a late model XJ Dana 30, but going up 6" means going wider too. So what should I be shopping for, D44's from a TJ? for the D44, we can get the tone ring and sensor, What do you have planned for the Ford 9" for a speedo?
For the wider width start looking for a HP44 from a '73-'77 F150 or F100 Ford pickup(or F250 if you want to run 8 lug BP rims),make sure the HP44 has welded wedges(for the raduis arms) and not the cast wedges(you can't cut the cast wedges off).TheF100/F150 HP44 is 67" WMS to WMS,6"-7" wider then a HPD30.
The speedo fix requires the use of a different t-case,heck your doing a SFA might as well upgrade to a better t-case,that has the speedo mount on the rear housing(TJ,XJ t-cases work or a Atlas) and then we convert the signal from there, see the thread about the speedo fix I posted in the SFA section.
