I really want the 3rd brake light to have the matching red...
do they make a light tint that would still look cool?
this is to show you what I mean

So you want a red cover for the LED light you have in there right now? I don't know how the rear top light works as far as replacement goes, but I would think you could keep the internal LED part and just install it into a stock housing. I could be and am most likely wrong but I would hit up a junk yard to see if there are any wrecked KJs collecting dust with a stock housing you could get you hands on. :? :?

i can't do that... the led 3rd brake light is one unit.
i tried taking it apart. could i just go to my local tint shop and have them tint it?
would it look stupid?
would it still be led brightness?

I don't know that it would look stupid but I think it would have to lose a little brightness because of the tint. Maybe not too much though. If they could get a good color match it would be fine I would think.

A red cover would stop all colors from the LED except red. So, it would be dimmer. How much I don't know. See if you can find some red plastic of some kind, something thin and tape in on. Then you can get an idea of the brightness change.
