Hello.

I'm trying to get my rear rotor off, and it seems to be stuck into a groove in the drum part of the rear parking brake. Looking at the FSM, I can't see how to loosen the parking brakes to get my rotor off. It says it's self adjusting, but it's gotta be able to be adjusted somewhere. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to get my rear rotors off? Also, my parking brake doesn't go up more than half way, anyway to adjust it to be more loose?

You don't have your parking brake on when you try to remove the drum, do you? I made that mistake once... When we did my brakes last week, the drums just slid right off allowing access to everything underneath.

Nope, but my parking brake is tight and only goes up 1/3 the way from all the way down...i think i'm screwed...

This may be really late, but is there a torx head screw on these for adjustment. The ones on my SRT had one for adjusting them, that's the only reason that I ask. try loosening that up a bit.

There is a little lip around your handbrake area due to rust and dirt, this makes it hard to take the rotors/discs of.
When you take out the cd storage in the middle arm rest (3 screws at the hinge) you can get to the handbrake mechanism, if you turn the mechanism a bit to relax the tension (stick a screwdriver in there to keep the tension off) you will find that the rotors/discs will come of easier.
good luck!

These were Jeepster's adjustment procedures - you just have to loosen instead of tighten

Thanks for all the information guys... I was able to back off the sprocket for the drum parking brake, and with a BFH, I finally got the rotors off.

and you didn't feel like checking though 472 pages of posts - I don't understand

(neither did I - I tweaked search combos until it only had 1 page to scroll through)
