Sadly the info from the web sight is true. i tried the SS lamps and was not happy with the quality and"brightness" of them.
I did a lot of research on optics and the best option i found was to just go to a driveing light.
To me it was a lot like the Prolong adds of old. the secret additive turned out to be Hydro cloride aka bleach. which turns into hydrochloric acid.....

Yeah, I have to agree the website did have quite a few good points. Having a little background in optics and such it seems to make sence. One thing he did fail to mention is that the light from the SS has a higher tempature and it reflects better off road markings and signs, so that is an advantage. Still 37 bucks a pair plus they only last a something like 100-300 hrs where as regular halogens last around 1200hrs.

Is the Silverstar 9007 the right bulb to use for an '05 KJ? How about the '05 fog lamps, are Silverstars available for those?

I have a 05 Renegade and have both headlights and fogs.
The headlight bulbs are 9007 and the fogs are H3's.
Hope that helps u out.

I don't know...........I like my Silver Stars. I have them in my headlights, my fogs, and my Hellas. Two questions I would ask are:

- He mentions that lack of blue in Halogen lights, but then uses a tinted windshield looking at a sodium vapor light to make his point. I don't see a lot of relevance there.

- He keeps mentioning lumens and output. Seems to me it should be easy enough for a light expert to measure the actual lumens output from these bulbs, rather than speculating.

Finally, I see better with the whiter light. It adds more contrast, and that works better for me. I don't care how many lumens they are, or are not. There are a lot of blue bulbs on the market. The SS's are pretty good in my book. And I've never had one burn out in three Jeeps.

According to the computer database at Autozone, the 2002-2004 Jeep Liberty with fog lights takes a 9145 bulb. Silverstar makes one, and I have seen them in both Autozone and Advance Auto Parts, though I have only seen single packs (which retail for $19.99 each) and they usually only have like 2 bulbs at each store. I have yet to try the swap, but the owner's manual states that they are 9145s too, so you shouldn't have to modify another size bulb, just find the correct ones.

The 9005s are 65watts verus the 45watts for the 9145. 65watts are the standard for high-beams so they will be as bright are you high beams when swapped out.

Thanks for the clarification. I was wondering that, but too lazy to look it up.
