Subject says it. A/C is not blowing cold on Level 1.
I have to keep it at Level 2 to get any kind of breeze. However once I get out on the highway (60+ mph) I can drop it down to Level 1 and it would blow, once I slow down or stop, it would stop again. Only at 50k.
Coolant Level is fine, No broken hoses, Radiator seems to have no leaks after quick visual inspection. I can swear that I read similar topics here, but I just can't seem to find them.

This is after I had NO HEAT last winter, and had to replace the radiator because the darn thing was cracked.

you need a blower motor resistor. it blowes out when going down the hwy because you probably have it set on "fresh air" not recirculate.

You have a vacuum problem in the HVAC controller.

ok, I just noticed the same porblem on mine this week. So which is it? HVAC resistor block or a vacuum problem? I was just about to buy the HVAC resistor block after reading that other thread about AC controls but now "Mr. 2 wheel drive" has me wondering.

Could be the common resistor pack that almost everyone seems to replace at some point(ive not).

My fan speed switch is all electronic so idk how it could be a vacuum problem.

Just read two other topics with similar problems. Time to push for a recall?
How is your fan speed switch is electronic? You also have an 04. I thought it was all vacuums, fan speed, blow direction, etc..

Odd. Mine blows cold as ice (YOU'RE WILLING TO SACRIFICE OUR LOVE) on 1. 2 is "Michigan winter", 3 is "Penguin-friendly", and 4 is "See you on the dark side of the moon...OOOH OOOH OOOH OOOH...the lunatic is in my head" cold. AC system's never been serviced. Not that it's any of your business.

The fan speed switch has wires coming from it on mine, not vacuum hoses like the dial and temp knobs.

Mine doesn't seem to blow anything out on level one either never has ,but even stranger is the fact level one appears to be the off position as well because there are no settings for zero and knob doesn't turn any further.

To turn off you turn the second dial to O poisition, just one below recirculate setting.

Mine dribbles out cold air on 1, it just really is not blowing. Maybe it has always been this way? I shouldn't have checked.....

Yes the fan knob is all electric(goes to the blower relay) but if the middle knob, vent selector knob, is not recieving or sending the correct vacuum to the trap doors and blend doors in the HVAC box then it can feel like the fan is not working at certian road speeds until the little extra force from the incoming air helps move the doors into there correct/selected posistions.

It could be as simple as junk in the HVAC box partially blocking the proper operation od some of the doors or a vacuum leak in some of the actuators/lines.Granted it is not a easy or cheap fix though.

I know that if I'm driving into a very strong headwind(40mph or greater) that no matter what position the middle knob is in air will only come out of the defrost vents due to the incoming air(from cowl intake) is overpowering the blend doors and putting the HVAC system in it's default postion which is defrost.

Is the HVAC resistor block the same part# for all models 2002-2005? If so I would like to swap my daughters (03) that works on 1 to my 05 that doesn't just to prove it out before ordering one.

It should be the same. You could call up a parts department and ask for a cross reference on that number if you really wanted to be sure though.

Yep, I mentioned that a few times, it will always fog up when I am driving fast, sometimes due to engine heat being pushed in through the defrost (another reason why Jeep cannot keep the cabin cold in 90+ weather, it heats up as soon as you turn off the A/C) and sometimes just because of temp difference while cruising. Anyway, I am willing to live with this as long as #2 position doesn't go either. My problem is that I recently got this sucker fixed, how long is the job performed by the jeep dealer is warrantee'd for. I can just go back and tell them now the fan #1 broke and demand that they fix it.

Dealers normally cover 12/12 warranty on their repairs. Most likely they will say something else burned it out so they can weasel out of warranty.
