Well it looks like my house is going to be sold. I should know for sure on the 31st. I have to be out by the 14th of August at 5:00pm. I am sure I will be out and gone before then but man not much time to get out. Anyway I will let you all know when it gets a little closer and I know for sure when I am going to be out there.

WHAT?!!?!?! Oh crap! Looks like it is time to hide :D

Glad to hear that it is sold.

And Schneck, after about 50 minutes you get sick of them. They are everywhere, EVERYWHERE. I am honestly surprised I have not seen them in the restrooms yet. Everywhere else they are free game.

I loved it down there but I'm not sure I'd move back. I love the mts down there though. They are unlike any other mts I had ever really been around. Its amazing how much life there is in them. Anyway, you'll grow to love it if you don't already. There is always something to do too. Hopefully things fall in line and we'll see you at that run after all.

I like it more each time I go out there. I don't think I will miss shoveling snow by any means!

We look forward to having another member here!

Its not as much culture shock as you might think. It's called Sin City for a reason, but I never go near The Strip and the surrounding area unless I need to or have friends in town. Once you get out into the neighborhoods it's like a regular city (except there are slot machines in every gas station and grocery store, you can by booze 24/7, and you go to the local casino to go to movies or go bowling  ).

I lost my appetite for gambling when I lost $160 in about 15 minutes at a blackjack table. Now I will occasionally play video poker but it's been months since I even did that.

I love the desert though. I think it's beautiful. And there are hundreds of miles of dirt roads and trails surrounding the greater Las Vegas area.

We'll make sure to put together a trail run with the other members once you get settled in (hopefully you can make the one we already have planned :D )

The good thing about the slots is that if you don't play them, you can learn to tune them out. After several trips out working for the local cable company, I was no longer shocked that they greet me after I step off the plane and on the top of the bar when I'm having a beer. It's like parenthood. You learn to ignore the cries that aren't serious :)

It wasn't easy and my company is going to be putting a lot of money into it for the sale.

By the time the move is complete I am sure they will have about 50k tied up in getting me to Vegas.............................they really want me out there. I am not getting such a bad deal myself work wise or it wouldn't have even been a consideration. They will make their money back in no time at all.

Very cool. What part of the valley are you going to be at? Was it Henderson or where all the cool people live, the NW :D

For now we have an apartment @ Green Valley and Warm Springs. We just have a short lease hoping to get into a house with in 3 months. Guess we'll see.

Congrats on the move! It's certainly a buyers market right now. There are about 20 homes for sale in my neighborhood alone  .

Too bad you won't make it for the run this weekend, but we will organize another one soon.

Well I made it, we are still working to get internet at the apartment hence the reason I have been out of touch. The Libby is here and the rubi should be out in a couple of weeks. I should have internet later today so I will catch up with the locals so maybe I can meet some of you all.

Glad to see you arrived safely! Now we need to get another trail ride organized to celebrate :D . Once you get settled a bit, we will have to organize a trip out to the Logandale trails. PoorMtnKid and I have been wanting to check them out and I am hopeful that we can get some other locals to join us. From what I understand the main trail is pretty easy and is a big circle with a bunch of optional side trails that vary from easy to insane.

If that was on Saturday it was probably me. I am on the board of directors for a local charity that does a fund raising event (The Wine Walk) at the District at Green Valley Ranch every 5 weeks or so and I was running around there. I am usually listening to tunes or a book so I probably didn't hear you. I try to check out all the Libertys I see but I'm not so observant sometimes
