So i took my KJ today to greenbier jeep. i just got off the phone with them and they said that my transmission was leaking, that the needed to seal and replace something at the pump. thats why it was doing that whole 'jerk' in low gear. thank God its under warranty. but bad enough as it is. its middle of the week. i car pool like 3 guys to work. they wont give me a loner, then she is trying to sell me the whole 30,000 service, and to clean out the spark plugs. i didn't take the service or the cleaning of the sparks plugs cause both jobs were almost 200 a pice. and she said they werent gonna charge for anything on the transmission work. but i wont beleive 'till i see it. i'm in shock. i will do the spark plug clean up and the 30,000 service, after i get it back. i mad. need to find a way to get to work and from work. maybe i shall start walking to work for the next week.

so get this...
the "clean spark plugs thingy": $150.00
30,000miles tune up: 250.00

sorry that suck man, least its still under warrenty, I just had to replace my steering rack and it cost $700

If they change all of the fluids, a 30k tune up may be worth it - motor oil, transmission fluid, differential gear oil, transfer case - ATF +4.

It's not that hard to change the plugs yourself, except for the inside passenger plug which is just a pain to get to = move the radiator overflow tank + get a long ratchet extension. Changing the spark plugs yourself will cost you just the price of the plugs, 3-5 bucks each times 6.

Unplug the coil pack wires, remove the little retaining nut and pull the coil pack straight up to get at the spark plug. Use a spark plug socket, these often come with socket sets. They have a rubber washer inside that holds onto the plug. Try not to drop anything into the hole. Check the gaps before installing the new plugs - those spark plug gap gauges are like 2-3 bucks.

NGK, Autolite, Bosche etc are all good plugs.

i dont think she mentioned anything about all the fluids... it was more like oil filter, air filter, tire rotation.. i will ask again when i go pick it up. i just dont want them to mix things up on me.

tutorials are good. hahahahaha, yeah i'm a rookie on this. couple of friends said they would help me do that. so im set. i'm glad there places like these! very very helpful.

Don't let the dealer do those services on your Liberty. If you need someone to change the fluids - find a local shop... It'll be $100.00 [or more] cheaper for all of those services.

Spark Plug cleaning is snake oil. Just change them yourself. It takes maybe an hour for a rookie to do it if you have the proper tools.

i said no to all of that. i know down here stealerships try to ripoff military people.
