before you take it in park it on a steep grade nose down. Leave her there a couple hours. Start her up and drive in reverse up the hill. A 4x4 Jeep should manage that no problem.

Enjoy your new pump.

Before anybody start to cry about that being fraud, stop and think about it. A vehicle should be able to handle any operation within design/operational parameters without breaking.

It was my understanding they were replacing the pumps because debris from the torque converter took them out. Not because they were defective. Parts get updated all the time. Check out how many updated parts are in a newer Chevy truck transmission. When it breaks they put newer, updated parts back in to hopefully make it better. It has always been this way. Stop whining.

It seems to me that if they were only replacing the pumps due to a problem with the torque convertors then why did they change the pumps for all the 2007 vehicles and newer?

Just wondering.....

No CRD's for the US in '07 or newer, the US only got CRD's for the '05 and '06 model year. The '07 KJ's have the 42RLE tranny and not the 545RFE that is in the US version of the CRD.

I have noticed a rattle in my transmission and haven't had the slightest clue as to what it was. Intermittently occurs at, or around, idle while in gear. Does this sound like the F37?

gmctd mentioned calling MrMoparts to find out if the recall was performed, can anybody embelish on this? phone #, etc.?

Thanks.

The call to MrMoparts was to get a new pump (~$300)

to find out about a recall - go to the Jeep website and type in the last 8 digits of the VIN and it will tell you if there are any recalls outstanding.

I have brought it in for several recalls since new, but never really paid attention to what they were. I have the recall notices at my house, I'll have to dig them up and see if that was one of them.

According to Bill.Barg:
Bill.Barg wrote:
the original TSB that went with the f37 Customer Satifaction "recall" left the decision to replace the pump with the technician deciding if there was a rattle sound present or not. If the tech decided he could hear something... voila... new upgraded pump otherwise , just the TC (my case).

So, is it possible that I brought it in and the technician didn't hear anything at the time and therefore neglected to perform the recall? Whereas now, the rattling does occur and necessitates a recall service?

Perhaps I should reinstall the stock intake and CCV hose before I bring it in for the 30k mile service (<1000 miles from now).

Given, (in my case) the continuation of the delayed engangement problem and a rattle sound during initial use, I want to know if this might be a problem with the tranny pump.

I would guess you have a damaged pump. Leave your Jeep at the dealer and let them start it after sitting awhile. If they don't agree with you find another dealer. Demanding things at the dealer never works. Either way I would replace the pump even if it wasn't bad. Your installing an aftermarket tc on your dime and a better trans pump is avaliable. It's really a no-brainer.

ya... that is what it comes down to.
I was hoping to have something informative to say to the service manager that would ultimately help them find the problem. I agree that demanding things aint going to get ya very far!
