what was it in for?

Fule service is a fuel injector cleaning and stuff like that.
Better off adding a fuel injector cleaner at every oil change. I have been doing this from the first car I ever own and never had any problems with my fuel injectors. NEVER!

I wouldn't. They could change your fuel filter if you really wanted them to, but the fuel injection cleaner stuff isn't really needed.

Buy some sea foam and use that in your driveway at 100K miles.

I cleaned out my Jeep with sea foam at 50K miles and nothing happend... Or at least the smoke wasn't nearly as fun as the smoke that came pouring out of the Mustang.

what makes it so expensive is that fools that don't know any better pay them $800 to visually inspect 10 different things, change your spark plugs and air filter.

i can look under your hood, change your spark plugs and air filter for $100....kicking you in the nuts is an extra $700 though

A 30,000 mile service includes much more then changing plugs and the air filter. One item it includes is a tranny flush, try and find a tranny flush for under $130 that uses ATF+4,not going to happen.

so ask them what the 30,000mile service includes and if it has the tranny flush and stuff. then get it. i mean i dont mind paying the money. i just like to shop around, know what im getting it and why.

30K mile service is for all of the 4x4 fluids. Which need to be done... I use a local mechanic and save a fair share of money.

The fuel system flush is something that you don't really need to do on these cars though.. Especially at such a "young" mileage.

I'd do a fuel system cleaning at least once a year,no matter how many miles is put on,it doesn't take but 1000miles to carbon up your engine enough to effect performance and economy.

I do a complete fuel system cleaning(3 step cleaning) once a year and I also do the Seafoam thing about once every six months or so.

30k service is a front and rear dif flush, plug change, oil change, air filter, tcase, inspection, and on 06 and older kj's a tranny flush. A tranyn flush cost 89.99 at National Tire and Battery. Dif flushes are usually $40 each. More if yours requires synthetic (requres that in the rear if you have a hitch) I found a place to do both with 75x140 gear lube non synthetic (no tow hitch) for $13 per diff. Which was cheaper than I could buy the gear oil for. Plugs cost about $11 at any auto parts palce if you buy good ones, less if you buy cheap ones.

$200 would cover everything if you did it yourself. everything else is labor.

As for the fuel system service, its a joke. you pay an ungodly amoutn for soemthing you can do for $10 in yoru driveway.

Your $89.99 tranny flush is not with ATF+4,it's with DexIII with a additive,no good for our tranny's.It's almost $75 alone for the fluid(ATF+4,even in bulk).

I would highly recommend the fuel system cleaning, once every year at least for better mpg's.

I went to a local shop and had them do it all for around $270. Well worth it. They did all the stuff that Troy and offroadohio said.
