Well,, I didnt trade in my 06 libby for the 4dr jk,, I'm keeping her for a while,, no reason to take that big a hit right now.. Well,, the other day had a rather sudden bad storm,, hailed several times and the libby got hit bad.. over 100 hits on the hood and 40-50 on the roof, and several on the doors and fenders.. Shocked at the low estimate though.. only like $2500,, getting a new hood and the paintless dent guys are going to do the rest.. Since the hood will be replaced,, what options, if any, are there.. would like a cowl induction.. Might have to save the old hood and make my own scoop up..
Thanks,
Steve

If my hood were damaged, I'd take the opportunity to get an 05 Renegade hood (and the related switch-over items). I don't know what year KJ you have though, so I don't know if that's an option for you.

Ive seen it cruising around the area he lives and he has a brush guard on the front that looks pretty sweet backed with that hood. :)

I like that one, the wife doesn't. Its really Her Jeep,, but,, neither of us liked the flat hood on the renny that much.. I'm surprised there aren't more hoods available as there are so many kj's out there almost all with the same hood..

Oh,, and another storm is heading our way now,, just saw it on the tv, warnings every couple minutes.. nickle sized hail.. I wonder if We will get it and have more damage on the jeep??

I got hailed on back in '02 in SD,my KJ ended up with $5500 in hail damage, softball size hail by the way. That's the reason why I painted it orange,I was looking for a fiberglass hood back then but nobody made them yet.Oh well if I get hailed on again here in CO my whole KJ is getting bedlined and I'm keeping the rest of the $9000 that my paint job is insured for.

I really like the hood that Terry made for me. Here's some pics of it with the Westin Brush Guard.

when i had a box truck pull in front of me, i got a new hood, grill, bumper, and steel bumper, rad support, ac condensor. that would have been the perfect time for me to get my 05-06 renny flat hood front end! i still kick myself for not doing that, oh well haha

KY,,
That hood looks great,, but the wife isn't liking it?? Since its really Her jeep I need to let her make the final call.. I'm thinking about keeping the old dimpled hood and doing a weld on cowl scoop and filling in the dimples. Its been a while since I did body work but it shouldn't be too hard.. Then paint it flat black or something.. I'm still having issue with the low estimate tho.. for that many dings I would have thought it would be more.. Has anybody opt.ed to do body work themselves and still received the $ from the ins co? I could do all the work removing the interior panels for the dentless guys to get o the roof and pick up a new glass hood. Just get it painted from the bodyshop.
Might have enough left over for a lift?

Me too. Just a little fuzzy or something not quite normal about it. When I first saw this pic a long time ago I assumed it was a concept photoshop that someone was wishing they could have for their KJ.
