I did the same thing but used drywall screws and anchors. Plus I couldn't find the original screws.

I like the sticker on the side but just imagine some kids smashing the window and having fun with it.

I mounted mine directly to the Seat base on my Drivers side ( right hand here in Australia Very Happy ) That way its right there beside me.

That was my idea for a mounting place. Does it impede the movement of the seat at all?

No. That part of the seat is static, and it clears the seat itself. I also mounted it with the nossle/handle pointed in that way specifically to protect it from being hit by my feet getting in or out of the car.

Works a treat as far as mounting, lets just hope I never have to use it.

I can verify that on the non-powered seats that there is a lot of room under there. I have an 8" sub under each front seat. I think there was about 7" of clearance from the metal floor (I cut the carpet) to the top of the seat rail.

One word of advice. Those small extinguishers are only good for VERY small fires. I was a firefighter for 11 years. Another thought about being a "good samaritan" - If someone's life is not in danger, do not be a hero to save a car. Cars have all kinds of nasty tricks. Force fed fuel fires, magnesium wheels (the old ones) that have high mag content (Mag has to be put out with a class D), Toxic fumes from foam, plastic, rubber, etc

If there is life safety at risk. I'm all for trying to help. If it is just a vehicle, don't risk it. As it has already been mentioned, that's what insurance is for. You don't want it after it has burned anyway...

It's approximately This l<........................................................................................>l Big.

Bought it at the 4x4 Show the other year.

One important thing to remember as well with long term storage of an extinguisher in a car, is that the fine powder gets settled by the constant vibrations in the vehicle, and all the air is squeezed out from between the powder particals. The powder then forms a kind of solid mass in the extinguisher, rendering it useless in an emergency as all you'll get out is gas with no powder.

Make sure every month or so, you pull it out and give it a good shake, you can even tap it with a rubber mallet, to free up the powder, you should feel the powder running up and down in the canister (just as if it was water) when you tip the extinguisher from end to end.

Its called "Maintenence Baby" :P , but, in all seriousness, very important.

ebay and it is more of a slightly chromed graphite color and not just a straight shiny chrome.
