1.) you have a 8.25 rear axle
2.) Trac lock and select trac you are mixing rear axle terms and names of transfer case. Trac loc is the factory locker for the rear axle, select trac is one of the transfer cases offered .
There should be a green tag on the right side near the wheel that says what you have a nd if it has a factory type locker.
When you order you should know if you have a open case or have a locker yes

Best way for you is to request a build sheet that Chrysler will provide to you and that will show what transfer case, rear axle etc you have

to tell if you have the trac lock, jack up the rear end and roll one tire forward. if the other side turns backwards, you have an open diff. If it turns the same direction, you have the trac lock

I think I will have to try & jack it up & see. Im curious because I feel the rear grab at times. If I reverse, stop, & then put it in drive & drive I feel the rear end grab. Or on turns It seems to grab. Not sure if this is the charcteristics of the trac loc. I had a 85 toyota pickup before with a welded rear . You cant not notice that its lock when its welded. anyway I will jack it up & check. thanks for the input

There was never a "locker" offered in any KJ,the Trac Loc is a clutched based limited slip diff.

If your planning on getting a locker like the ARB airlocker it doesn't matter if you have the tracloc since the ARB is a total carrier replacement. Now if getting a lunchbox style locker(powertrax) you will need to get the correct locker for your carrier.
