Is there any liability waiver that you have to sign when you buy these or anything else that the Jeepin by Al guys can and do use to cover their butts if someones gets in a terrible accident because their arms failed? How would that work anyway? Seems kind of risky on their behalf. :?

I'm sure he has some kind of disclaimer on his invoices saying the UCA's are for "offroad use only" and buyer assumes all responibility for use,and yada, yada, yada. If not he should have one,I know Jed at Armorology here in the Springs has a disclaimer that takes up about 1/3 of the page.

But his UCA's are really no more likely to fail then the OEM UCA's.I still run the GENII's,besides having one of the balljoint bungs "strip out"(up to GENIV used screwin balljoints) and a possible cracked weld when at MOAB,still haven't looked at the arm yet so not known if it actually cracked, they have been really good and I beat them up pretty good.

Al did have some sort of disclaimer, so I'm sure Marlin does.
My full Jeepin by Al A-arms story, for those who want to know what to expect possibly:

My first arms were Gen. Is, they failed on the driver's side, weld to the front side of the ball joint bung. I was slowly coming off a 6" curb in a construction site towards the back of my neighborhood, nothing crazy at all. I go back there and do :D teenage things. Thankfully the knuckle rested against the strut assembly and was still held in place mostly by the part of the arm still attached to the knuckle from the other mount. I drove home on the side of my tire, which did wear it funny :( . By this time, Marlin had acquired Jeepin By Al, so I dealt with him. He sent me the arms at no cost to me. He did ask, though, for me to send him the broken ones so he could take a look at them.

He sent me flat black Gen. IIs. They failed in the same area in the back of my neighborhood, but I had just drove up a very small hill. It was 'offroad' technically since this was off the pavement. They also failed in the same exact spot, front side ball joint bung weld. Once again, I drove home on the side of my tire, very carefully! He sent me his Gen 4.5s free of cost, and since the failure was nearly identical I don't think he wanted to bother looking at the broken ones this time.

I love Jeepin' By Al, despite the whole mess! I did the removal and installation each time and still don't have an alignment (darn steering rack bushings), but I don't drive much so I'm just happy these arms at least seem like they won't fail. Time is the only true test!

Good to hear. It is one thing for a major corp to have a serious big fatality lawsuit on their hands but a whole different story for a relatively small shop like JBA to take one on. I would trust the JBA ones myself, I wouldn't think twice to be honest.

So you are currently using Al's Gen II's? (Just wanted to be sure I understood you right.)

I just looked at mine, and, knock on wood, they look as sturdy as the day they were installed. I bit less paint on them due to tire rubbing  but the welds look fine.

Well it happen I got a call from my wife early this morning when she was making a right turn out of our track to go to work she heard a noise like a thud and the Lib start to wobble down the street. She drove real slow to a restaurant parking lot. When she got out she notice the driver side tire leaning inward and the upper control arm aft side cracked and hanging. The tow truck took it to our house about 2 blocks away and is sitting in the driveway. I called Marlin and he is sending me a new set of arms. I have the GENII arms for a couple years now. By the pictures of the new arms GEN4.5 they look stronger and a better design. I wheel my jeep hard on the trails and we'll see how it holds up. Marlin did not ask any question just my address it's nice when you have people like him that backs up their products. I'll be buying more stuff from him in the future.
I guess I know what I'll be doing this coming weekend. My wife usually don't drive my 02Lib to work but her 03Lib is at the dealer having a torque converter change but that's another story.

I'm sorry, but you are giving a small discount for customers to get quality parts if it the faulty ones haven't broken yet? The customers with the potential problems are the customers that helped build your recognition and reputation. Now you are telling them that your faulty stuff is worth nothing to you, and they have to basically buy new parts? When Jeep did this and Ball joints were failing, they issued a Recall and gave their customers free replacements before they broke. Of course they are required to by law if a part is a safety issue. I am pretty sure A arms breaking in half is a safety issue. But I am not sure at all if your company is liable in the same way as Jeep. I was already thinking of UCAs for my wifes jeep, but if yours are no better than OEM, I think I will stick with Jeep parts.
