If you have the SEGR installed, you shouldn't see any CEL's.

I'm getting a P1140 which I'm told is the airflow control valve. I know that the FSM states this is something else but folks here who had AFCV fail got the same code.

When I bypass SEGR with the bypass plug (with MAF plugged in), the code is still there. What gives?

Yep - I was using the entire DCJ DTC enhanced reference listings, and none of that is listed - however, just got my AE scantool working again, and P0102 is dead (unplugged) MAF and P1140 is the AFC valve error specific to the Jeep KJ CRD - P1140 usually gives the alarm indicator on the instrument cluster, which is a throttle-plate in a tubing section - the AFC is ~285bucks -

Air Flow Control Valve - AFV, FCV, Throttle valve, etc - DTC P1140 - FYI, ECM checks loading of all controllers - unplug one and you'll get a DTC for unexpected open for that device

Remind me to send a thank-you basket of rotten fruit to the EPA for saddling us with these constant cross-checking programs.

Verification\justification\permissive can be a hassle, until an intermittent problem\failure occurs, then the stored error is very handy, somewhere down the road. Makes it difficult to hotrod a system, but, empirically\historically, most guys shouldn't be attempting changes, anyway, having forgotten\ignored everything they were taught in Science 101 - f'rinstance, the guy with a 4" crossover pipe on exhaust manifolds with 2.250" outlet\inlet, complaining because he can't fit a 5"dia downpipe in the chassis with a 3" turbine exhaust outlet elbow - prolly not very good at his shoe salesman job at K-Mart, either...............
