the sound is that of an old car that hasnt been greesed in a few years but it only happens when i put it in reverse. i think its prob the u-joints but is there anything else i should also check? i have had the frankenlift on there for about 1000 miles but i def got more than the advertized 2 1/2 inchs and i wondering if something major might be wrong. kinda new to the whole 4x4 scene (finally realized lowered cars get old) so any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

check the torque on your sway bar mounts and end-links.

They (probably) had to take it off (or at least disconnect it) to install the lift. It's normal to have metal stress and fatigue over time. Just take it back to the shop you had it lifted at and have them check all your torques. If they won't do it, for any reason, then you need to find another shop. It's advised by almost all lift manufacturers and installers to have all your bolts and stuff re-torqued about 200 miles after you lift any suspension. Should be included in the cost you already paid, too. If not... like I said, find another shop.

Where is the squeaking coming from? From the drive shaft area? Is it worse going uphill in reverse? Whats the "speed" of the squeaking? Mine did that because of bad U joints.

Its the rear u joint, not anything in the front suspension, bet 5 bucks on it, anytime you get that sound its one of the rear joints. Can hear them from across the parking lot if you know the sound to listen for. They may seem tight to the touch but once you take them apart they are toast ..trust me. Get them replaced ASAP and all will be good in the world
When in reverse you are hearing a squeak, squeak etc as you back up and its like in a rotational pattern then thats it, you may also hear it some or will going forward, The joint may of been going bad but now that its on a different angle it finished it off. They are cheap and easy to replace, mine went at 45,000/50,000 or so

Rear joint replaced mine at 58000, one thing you can try that works, get underneath and soak the hell out of the U caps with WD40 drive it a cuple of blocks the WD40 will soak into the caps and the noise will go away or deminish some what.. then you are sure. but trust me its the rear u-joint. kee us updated.

Is this with the wheels turned or not? What size tires and wheels are you running?

Definitely get some greaseable ones. They last much longer, remember to grease them every 3000 miles.

Get everything torqued. I'd bet money that will fix the squeak. Might even be something as simple as some silicone spray on the anti-sway bar bushings.
