I'm looking to get some new tires soon and I'm having a little trouble deciding the size to get. I will likely get the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour ATs or the Firestone Destination ATs. From these forums, it sounds like a 245/70R16 will fit without any or very minor rubbing. The problem is I hope to lift my KJ in another 6-8 months and I want a little bigger tire to fit a lifted KJ better and don't want to buy another set. Does anybody know how much trimming would be required to fit either a 255/70R16 or a 245/75R16? Is it just the pinch weld or some plastic inner fender trimming as well? Is there anything other than that?

If you want to run 245/75's or 255/70's you should really wait till you are lifted, you will still need to trim with those tire sizes when lifted.

You can run them unlifted but the amount that needs to be trimmed is,well you will get a few hours worth of use out of a sawsall or you could just live with the awfull rubbing noises, severely reduced turning radius, and ruined tires(from rubbing) till your lifted.
