so i been noticing that my headlights have becoming a little dim lately.

i was just wondering as to what the brightest lamp out there i could use. i've heard of the silverstar ultra, but never seen them on a jeep. does anyone else have any other suggestions?

also, in order to replace them it seems i have to take off the grill, then the headlight assembly. i this right or am i just overlooking something else.

thanks

josh

I have the silverstars they are ok I guess better than candles, or an oil lamp

easy to change just reach in behind the headlight and unscrew the bulb holder, no need to R&R the grill / headlights

PIAA extreme white lights are about as good as you'll get for the halogen bulb.

Around $100.00 each though so it's up to you.

(and no I don't have them) I like the cheap lights

I find it easier to move the fuse box and air box to get more room. You could get some auxiliary driving lights. Don't think it is legal to have both your headlight and auxiliary lights on at the same time.

GE Nighthawk (non-Sport) > *. Sylvania Silverstars are crap. OSRAM SilverStars are not. I have the PIAA Xtreme Whites and they're bright as hell too. I actually feel bad for the people that I follow (even after a year of usage).

Ive had the silver stars for awhile now and they are pretty good. I took one of them out not long ago and the filament looked like it was hating life so I expect that to die at any time. :?

PIAA Xtreme Whites in the headlights and the foglights. I swapped 9005s for the normal 9145s in the foglights. The PIAAs are better than the Sylvania Silverstars and way better than the stock bulbs.

i have some hella bulbs, they have a bluish tint like the silverstars/ultras, i have had them for about 2.5 years and havent had a single problem, still seem bright, same color is still there too. thats the first thing i did to my jeep was get the Hella bulbs, i have Silverstar Ultras in my rooflights and not a problem with those either, DEFINITELY noticed a BIG difference in the rooflights when i switched from stock to those hahaha
