I've said the same for the past year or so now. A lot of the folks I was wheeling with this weekend saw it first hand. Powertrax is a great unit for the KJ.

I have to say that I rode with Mitch on a night run on Fri night and between that and what I saw him do on Sat, I am sold.

I sent Aussie an email again asking where they are with the 8.25" locker for the KJ and this is what I recieved this morning:

We had a problem with one of the beta installs. One install went perfect
and one did not so we identified the root cause and issued a corrective
action. That is now in process and we are hoping that in about three
weeks we can announce an expected date for the new units to be in the
USA inventory.

Well, it's out when it's out I guess. If you need one sooner, go with a PowerTrax

Here is an email from yesterday with an update, still a long time out, but it looks like I am a long time out from buying a locker anyway.

"Yes, we identified the problem and have a change order in process. We
are shipping some new equipment to Australia this week and we hope to
have the replacement lockers, that will fit all makes of axles, about 4
weeks after the equipment arrives in Australia. Thank you for your
patience."

I've decided that I'm going with the Aussie, no matter what. If I don't because it doesn't get released, I'll get an ARB, since there are no other selectable lockers for the 8.25.

Figure going either really cheap or really expensive should make me happy:P

That's the conclusion I came to.

I like the ARB, something about an air locker sounds like fun. Maybe surreal is a better word. 8)

Well, I got an email yesterday saying they are still at least 4 weeks out from knowing whether or not the warehouse in Aus has built anything. :?

I have officially moved on.

Obviously this is another fine example of a company that counted their chickens before they were hatched.

Hmmm, maybe I read my email wrong. Either way, if they do get them in 4 weeks, unlikely, they will have to do installs again, and if everything goes right it will come out. So at least a month and a half would be my guess. And that is if it all goes smoothly. I would still love to have it, but man, I am ired of the run around. It was supposed to be out last May, and a guy I met with an XJ said they were supposed to be out the fall before last May. It is going to be a nice locker, but I can't handle this up and down crap.

i'm in no hurry for it.. when it comes out it comes out. atleast i'll know it's right and should have a smooth install and good performance. so whenever it happens it does. i just wonder how my ESP will react with a locker? or if it will complicate the install.

as a general service..

"Vaporware is a somewhat derogatory term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar software/hardware product. The term implies unwarranted optimism, an as yet unannounced abandonment of a project, or sometimes even deception; that is, it may imply that the announcer knows that product development is in too early a stage to support responsible statements about its completion date, feature set, or even feasibility. However, most vaporware would not be considered a hoax since the makers have a genuine intention to create their product, even if it ultimately never materializes. Products with unspecified release dates or long development times that outwardly demonstrate regular, verifiable progress in production are not normally labelled vaporware."

had to wiki it :D

According to ARB, lockers do not have any positive or negative impact concerning the ESP. ESP impacts the brakes, not the lockers.
