The shop that installed my shift kit did say that the 42RLE was a well-built trany, but they never used the word “heavy duty”. In addition to the minivan, I think they might have said that the 42RLE was pretty much the same trany that’s used in the Dodge Intrepid (front wheel drive). I know from the factory that the shifts were pretty sloppy. Once the shift kit "springs" were replaced, it did tightened up the shifts. Hey, at least it makes me feel better to know that the 42RLE was used in the Wrangler.

Unfortunately, the dealer who I purchased the jeep from, Southwest
Chrysler Jeep in Norco, CA is no long in business. The neighboring Dodge Dealer,
Frahm Chrysler Jeep Dodge, in Norco now carries the jeep line. But they
claim not to have any of the old paper work from the other place, and
suggested I contact you. Thank you for time.

There should be link on the Jeep.com site that is specifically for requesting a copy of your build sheet. I used it to get mine. If you can decipher it, it is more detailed than just what's on the window sticker. I used to have the link but I lost it, sorry.
