some have done it on here and also some good posts over on ROF (Rubicon Owners Forum just look for painted wheels) about painting wheels, local parts store has regular wheel primer and paint in silver, dark grey and even black, my Moabs will be black later this fall

Give your wheels another 30k miles. They'll start turning black

Ask any other steel-wheeled Sport owner

I can't believe Chrysler thought they were a good idea.

Make sure you post pics! I have been tossing that idea around for a while now. The wife is against it, but she can't ALWAYS get her way ~:|~

it wouldnt be hard but I would just leave them chrome bc I would think that it wouldnt last too good, especially if you mess with them a lot

I"m pretty sure I posted this before somewhere, but here it is again for the sake of discussion - there was some debate about whether to paint the center caps of the steel wheels so I photoshopped mine.

I like the silver centers personally. One of these days I'll actually get around to painting them. Hopefully before it snows.

Yeah they're ugly, but until I get some Moabs there what I've got!

maybe I will do that on my wife's Red Sport. :)

Was this just a tape off the wheels and hit it with a rattle can or did you do something more detailed?

DryBones,

In the virtual world inside my computer I taped them off, sand blasted 'em, primed and painted.

In real life I haven't done anything :D

Probably will rattle can them though, with a sandblast and prime first.

I'm looking for a satin finish, not too flat, not too glossy - the pics look that way I think.

Maybe I should get off my butt and give it a shot this weekend...

I hear you there! One reason I want to paint them is they are starting to rust around the edges, darn Toronto salt!
