Lately i have really regreted selling my 04 renegade. gas prices down in canada are very expensive and they were going to go really high according to the news, and i had been doing a lot of traveling with my job.

I freaked out thinking they were going to really sky rocket and traded my liberty in for a cobalt SS. Now i have been kicking myself in the booty ever since, i even tried to get it back but they already sold it a week later. Now i am thinking of going back and finding another kj, trading my cobalt in for it.

Has anyone else sold their kj and really regretted it?

BTW this was my baby:

Neatus, but I think it was a little longer than a week. I''d be willing to let mine go since I'm picking up a JK, but I'm still so in dutch on it that it won't happen. I plan on keeping it as a back up.

I love my KJ but yes I would agree that if I were to trade it would be for a TJ and even then I would be a little hard pressed to sell it. Sorry for your loss, but the next one will be even better, and you can get one with some of the mods already done to it :)

Very sorry that you sold the KJ. When you consider all things, they are not that expensive to operate once all the loans are paid for.

What is the gas mileage improvement in the cobalt over the KJ?

liberty averaged around 15-17, the cobalt around 28-30

A friend of mine traded his cobalt in for a 06 Liberty because me and my wife both have liberties. Hers is a 02 and mine is a 04 and we both are very happy with them

Buy a motorcycle. I even went so far as to get a dual-sport (Jeep of motorcycles), so I only waste gas on the trails when I need to carry passengers and/or lots of cargo. The fun is worth it...but I can't speak for the riding season in Canada. Maintenance is also easy and cheap. Just did my oil change (every 2-3K), $15 and 15 minutes. I'm looking at tires, too, $200 mounted and balanced, and they'll last 10-15K.

so you traded your KJ in on a Cobalt, you probably owed more than the KJ was worth, went upside down and now because of that, probably owe more than what the Cobalt is worth.

No wonder the entire world is in a credit crisis.

Are you saving enough on gas to offset the higher payments?

Exactly why I am staying put and just dealing with the fuel costs.

lol, actually it was a straight across trade, no extra money. I did a line of credit for the jeep to pay it off quick, live at home, only 19, moving out in a few months. So i went, found an 07 cobalt, they were both worth almost identical for trade in value so we did a straight across deal. (took 8 hours for them to finally go for it)

now my plan is to do another straight across deal, with a different dealership, didnt like the one i went to. They are both almost worth the same still for trade in value. And the cobalt would be a lot easier to sell then a liberty with todays economy so i think i will have an easier time convincing the dealership to go for the offer.

So really i learnt a lesson, and didnt spend a penny extra. So nice try on trying to take a little shot at me.

Nice job on your part getting offended by me making an observation and taking it as an insult. Typical of the sub-25 crowd
