UnLiMiTeD_: It sounds like you did a good job on the trade. I hope the next one works out just as good! I would hate to have to part with my KJ!! I know I would never trade it for any of the Wranglers. The Libby is a much better all around vehicle. Be sure to keep us up to date on your attempt to get another KJ.

I just picked up an awesome steal at a dealership on a lightly used 2004 Liberty Renegade Silver, loaded with Full skid plates, 255/65/16 yokohama Geolander A/T-S all Armor Alled up, Tow hooks and Flowmaster super 44.

The sales guy said a young whipper snapper traded it in for a brand new 08 econocar.   JK

You will likely take a big hit on the newly depreciated 'new' 08 Cobolt now too since they will unlikely give you full credit for it since they have other new ones on the lot. Maybe hold tight until the abundance of used SUV's fill their lot.

What was the value and the mileage of the KJ if you don't mind me asking?

Good luck!!

so you live around maple ridge then eh? because that would be my jeep you bought. though it sold a few months ago. OR were u kidding about the whole thing?

it had around 50k kilometers on it, last year i bought it for 17,500, i didnt trade it for a brand new car, got an 07 cobalt SS, with 50,000 km on it, so i wont take much of a hit on it since its already used and ive only had it for a few months.

Being that I drive a lot of highway miles in the summer I bought a cheapo Festiva and took the insurance off the jeep. I don't see the point in paying almost double the insurance and 2.5 x's the gas while I'm chewing off my M/T's. I'm going to put it back on the road again for about three months this fall for hunting season. That's really all I bought it for anyways. It'll be nice to get back in to comfort and style again

I was in Austin this weekend and the rental I was given was the Subaru Impreza. Nice car, but you know, for 19mpg (the readout on the computer) I sure like my KJ a WHOLE LOT better than that little Impreza. OK, it did accelerate really fast but it rev'd up pretty darn high to do that and boy did the auto tranny really couldn't make up its mind. I tried to u-turn on the highway (legal, at designated spots) and accelerate up to speed and the auto tranny upshifted too soon so had no torque, decided to downshift and lurched, then whined and whined forever meanwhile traffic is approaching me and eventually decided to upshift again. Man, it was totally unlike the KJ I was used to :) I know people sometimes dislike the KJ's auto tranny, but man, after that episode I have to give my KJ a hug ...

still can not see the logic in trading off one vehicle to save 3 to 4 miles per gallon.
I buy a vehicle cause I like it and want to drive it, not park it and drive some little disco car around to save a few bucks??? If I did not like the Liberty I would of never bought it in the first place.
I drive mine everywhere, bought 9/21/04, now almost 4 years later , just hit 110,000, so about 2292 miles a week average, not bad EH???

Why buy something you don't like?

See, that right there? Thread over :)

There are not many vehicles around that you can take out to the beach, desert, mountains, rock gardens, slick rock, etc. one day and the next day drive it to the office, all with little to no complaints.

I almost sent my 03 KJ packing. A guy offered me 7g's for mine with 130XXX on it

It was a hard choice but in the end I kept JEEPZILLA

Amen to that!

(you forgot haul loads of sand, rock, gravel for landscaping projects and the KJ's ability to tow)

I agree with Tommudd I bought mine in 04 and I have just under a 100,000 miles and I drive it everywhere. If you think about it if you have a second car do you really save that much money with insurance on 2 vehicles and probably haveing to put gas in both cars, because I'm sure your going to be using the Kj at least once during the week.

Well my jeep dream maybe over. just got in an accident this morning with the cobalt. If its not totalled then i cant sell it right away, because nobody will want to buy it AND my insurance is going to go WAYY up now. Accident was my fault, dont know how i didnt see the guy when i was turning.

My insurance is $3000 a year witha 10% discount, this accident puts me back to NEGATIVE 40%, so around $4500 a year, so im going to get a jeep next, just a cheap one thats cheap on insurance.

Damage:
