We Lifted our 05 Limited with Frankenlift/OME. Have stock bumpers with Tow Hooks in front. Have Rock Lizard Sliders (LOVE THEM MARTY - Thanks). I just don't think the stock Jack under the passenger seat would still do the job... would it?

Any Ideas as to what others have done?

If High Lift Jack is the only way to go.... where would you suggest lifting the vehicle?

thanks for any feedback. Love this site.

Darren.

For off roading options you could use a high lift and use the sliders as lift points. If you are just wanting a general all around jack to carry, get a bottle jack. They have great lifting capacity for size and you can just use the frame rail. If you go that route make sure that you find out how tall the jack is when fully extended. Some of them only travel a short distance. If you are off road and have fairly solid ground and access to the underside of your Jeep they can be used to get you off of rocks and stuff too.

hi-lift, 6 ton bottle jack, a 2' 4"x4" and jack stands

When I'm working on the KJ the 4x gets put under the slider rails, right next to the subframe, with the bottle jack under that. Make sure you can get to the jacking points on the frame rail and put the stands under those.

Hi lift works great for changing a tire. Just open the door and jack on the sliders that Marty made ya. ;)

I always carry four, foot long 2 X 12 treated boards, can use to put under the bottle jack, wheel chunks, get short cute women up in the Liberty, and all kinds of good things

I carry a small floor jack and a piece of 3/4 inch plywood as a jack board in my cargo box.

As you can see, picked up the jack for $10 at a yard sale.

Wagon jacks are great if you have good lift points, which I don't.

I have a 6-ton bottle jack in the Jeep, that I intend to use under the axle or front LCA for changing tires on the side of the road (but have never used it to do so, only used when putting on the lift). I also have a Hi-Lift and frame rails. In addition, I have a Hi-Lift wheel adapter that lets you attach it to a wheel and lift the vehicle by the wheel (for off-road recovery). Be advised it does not work with the stock aluminum wheels, but works well with D-ring style wheels.

For the garage, I have a 6-ton Craftsman Pro and truck jack stands. The jack lets me jack the frame high enough to get the wheels off the ground (just barely) without resorting to a block for a spacer. It is a bit fat and difficult to maneuver, however. I also have a cheap generic transmission stand adapter for the jack (Autozone Duracrap, er duralast) that is invaluable for putting on and taking off skid plates and rails and what not when you are alone and don't want to hold them up or have them falling on your head.
