Hey All,

I want to change the plugs on my GF's Liberty. I read the write up but aparently I am a moron. Does anyone have any pics of where the spark plugs are located? I am definately missing something.

Thanks for helping a noob.

i dont have pictures. but the libertys have individual coils, no spark plug "wires", as in the thick wires. there are the coils that snap over the spark plugs and a plug that plugs into that. if you know where your spark plugs would generally be located, youll see what im talking about. theres one bolt on each coil holding it onto the engine. unplug the coil from the connector, unbolt the coil from the engine, then pull straight up and youll see the spark plug down there.

on the back right side youll probably need an extention/universal to get to that spark plug, and just unbolt the coolant overflow bottle from the firewall to make it easier

How many miles do you have when you changed your spark plugs? I recently went into my local dealership for an oil change and they recommended that I have a 15k tune up (spark plugs, air filters, pvc, etc..). They told me it will cost about ~$290. Does that seem like a lot or is that on average?

The dealership's quotes:

RC,

The recommended interval is 30K miles between spark plug changes. Most here do it every 20 - 25K miles because the plugs see a lot of wear.

Use the stock plugs or Iridium from NKG when you do the change and the Jeep will thank you for it.

P.S. yes the dealer was trying to pull a fast one on you.
