Ok so I am saving up money for an old man emu lift kit. I am planning on going with the heavy duty coils but when I go to buy front heavy duty springs I find OME790 and OME927 springs. What ones work for the 2004 kj sport. Is one for crd models, just want to make sure I but the right springs. Also plan on using rancho shocks and struts, from users on this website what models work and/or work the best.

Thanks for the help

OME 927s are what you want for the front,
948s are the heavy duty for the rear
947s are the medium duty rear

Rancho RSX 17004 for the rear
and
RSX 17505 for the front

Simon said that

OME790 would be way to stiff for your gasser. It's for a CRD. Like Tom said, go for the OME927 front and OME948 rear with Ranchos all the way around. :D

I'm thinking about doing the same at some point when the budget allows, what about UCA's? Are they necessary for a mild lift like this?

Mild lift ??? not sure what you mean by that
but its been stated on here several times before, no they are not required but they are better than stock. You don't need them to get the alignment into specs. I had 70,000 on my lift before I changed them out for Als 4.5s still tight no problems at all but did it cause I could

By mild lift I simply meant that it wasn't 4-6" like I've heard of some people trying to accomplish.

I remember reading somewhere that the OME lift was designed to give the customer a nice lift without having to do a lot of heavy modifcations to the vehicle and maintian everyday reliability.

OK just wanted to make sure we were both on the same page as far as what you wanted. With OME Heavy Duty springs, 2 or 3 ring clevis it will get you 3 inches of lift or there abouts

So Tom, or whoever,
Can I combine a clevis lift with my Frankenlifted CRD?
If so, how many rings would be recommended for the front?
What size rings do I need?

I figured an Iso pad on each side of the rear is fine.

My frankenlift gave me a little over 2 inches so I am looking for a little more (compared to the 3 to 4 inches other folks are claiming).

Thanks.
Scott

To much front lift on a CRD will spell death for your drivers side inner CV boot.

TJKJ is right going higher with the CRD is not good, the drivers side CV is shorter than a gasser so you can not go as high with them without adding problems

Ok, thanks tjkj2002 and tommudd.

I had done some searching but didn't find this out. I didn't realize that the driver side is shorter. Would the problem come from the CV touching and tearing up or from the angle just being too great? If it is a 'touching' issue, could I put a jack under it to achieve full droop on the front end and see how close my CV is and then go from there?

Thanks again.
Scott
