I haven't heard anything about the Rockfather lifts. I'm a couple weeks away and my budget is in the 300 range. I know the RRO combo lift is worth it, but just kinda wondering about this one.http://www.rocky-road.com/kjsus.html

Hey Parakeet, you can't get your lift on before me. :D

Did you read on the RRO website under whats coming. New CV axles that claims we can put a 4 to 6 inch lift on it. Hmm should be interesting.

I was looking at both those as well as the Franken lift as well. Let me know when you get it. I'm willing to help you install it.

I'm looking at the rockfather lift the cheap one if I was going (or had) the money to spend I would get the Frankenlift. I'm thinking I'm going w/ the RRO combo and pre runner shocks. So many ppl on here have the RRO lifts and I haven't seen anybody even mention the rockfather when lift questions arise. I actually might be able to swing ordering the lift this week.
So I guess the million dollar question is how bad will the KJ look with the stock 225/70/R16's and 2.5 inches of lift. I can't afford tires till tax time.
And I think those are going to be Dunlop Mud Rovers.

I have the Rockfather I, So far its been great, It's been on for about three months now. I like the ride on road, and it does great off road too. Soo far Lots of mudd and sand. Some minor rock climbing. I like it....I wanted the Rockfather II but couldn't afford it at that time...

If you can't afford the tires now, why not wait until tax time to put on the lift. By then you will have enough for nice tires or an even nicer lift. Frankenlift and Skyjacker are both great coil over lifts (I have the Skyjacker and LOVE IT!) Keep your options open... 8)

4wdParakeet,

How's the Rockfather I lift working out? That $400 is about all I plan to spend on a lift, considering I don't get to wheel very often.

Any installation tips/tricks you want to offer? I've read that you need a good shop to build the front strut assemly. Did you do everything yourself? What related expenses (like shop charges, tool rental, etc.) did you have?

Send me a PM if you want, but I'm sure others considering this lift kit would appreciate the inside scoop.

T.J.
