Hey Guys..

So this is my issue.. I'm trying to set up some puddle lamps eiother underneath the Mirror or under the door.. but first I need to be able to send the power wires which originally run from the under dash courtesy lights so they turn on and fade with the interior lights.

but I've ran into a problem.. how do I bring a wire into the door..

ANY advice would help.. thanks.

sorry they're sideways

The rubber boot between the door/body is very easy to pop off/back on, very flexible. Pull it lose, run your wires into the door, then put the boot back in place.

Just start taking the door apart. Take the panel off and pop out the rubber boots. Also, use a straighten coat hanger and a giant needle if you need to punch a new hole.

If you elect to use a coat hanger, be careful not to hack up the wiring harness that's there.

yeah all the necessary wires for the door go through the rectangular rubber gasket..
but as you can see the wires leaving the car are held together very well, and it is in the MOST awkward place to start to take them apart if need be..
not to mention behind the door panel is very messy, lol..

but thanks guys..

im going to check it out again when I get a chance..
also I have to test the LEDs I have at night time.. they were quite bright during the day, so I want to see if theyre on the mirror, if it will be bright enough to illuminate the ground.[size=9]

they produce a lot more light than shown here and they fade on and off with the interior lights.
I wired them to the factory wires under the dash.

they dont turn on when you click the map lights, but they do turn on if you turn the interior lights on via the left lever on the steering wheel. they turn on the same way the factory lights do.

woops, only seven months late..

But the site is http://www.oznium.com/

The best place to buy LEDs.. the brightest of the options out there. Most reasonably priced, and the ones that are a little more expensive, are totally worth it.
They have a bunch of different kinds, and can be used for anything.
Browse through their albums and see what's possible.
Great customer service too.

Oh, and I don't work for them or anything, they're just good, lol.

The lights I used are these; http://www.oznium.com/led-modules

What would be much better is actually to wire these to the blinkers and turn them into signals, using red or amber LED. Although there might be a problem with resistance, but it would very cool to do.

Even though these lights are relatively cheap, they are good quality. If they do not have power going to them, they will not light, lol. Unlike cheaper LEDs. It depends on how you hook them up. If you get the power from the interior lights like I did, they will only turn on when they are on. If you put it to its separate switch they will turn on when you flip the switch.

If you're setting up rock lights, check this out. www.jk-forum.com/showthread.php?94632-C ... ock-Lights!

Interesting idea but I would prefer mounting the lights on the bottom of the door.
http://www.realtruck.com/rampage_under_door_safety_light_kits/R141025P1C1T.html

If you could wire those lights into your turn signals they could serve as additional turn signals.
