Has anyone else notice a dead spot when the Liberty with automatic transmission shifts from first to second under moderate to heavy acceleration? It feels like the engine cuts out for a split second and then shifts to second gear. It just feels odd to me. I have a 2008 Liberty. Thanks for your responses ahead of time!
Take care

This is normal, its called torque management. The purpose is to give the transmission longer life by not slamming into gears like the old transmissions.I have this on my 06 Charger same thing, happened and thats what Chrysler told me and the service dept.,plus I read it in a book about the LX cars. This is a Mercedes idea.

Oh, okay the dreaded torque management it seems to get worse with every new car I buy. I wish there was a way to get rid of it. On my pick up I had it turned 75% off which was nice but, it had a custom tune. Thanx....

There are people on the Charger forums trying to get rid of it,but far as I was told by the tech at the dealer, you have to change the TCM to a high performance one.I don't think they have a HiPo TCM for the Liberty. This is one of the first thing my wife complained about her KK.She didn't like my answer either.

this may have happen to me a few times... but thought it was me or the truck using less fuel. I just passed 1200 miles and the truck feels good. Been pushing it more on the highway and it seems to be breaking in nicely. it has more power than i thought it would when i first started breaking it in.
