So I'm on my way home from taking my son to the doctor and I stop for an ambulace and this jerk rear-ends me. Well he gets cited for following to close.
Now the insurance companies get to work it out. His car is wrecked pretty bad my a little dent on the tail gate.

Bummer about the accident. I take it everyone in your Jeep is okay? Be thankful the accident and damage wasn't worse.

...wait a second...how did that tailgater get to Reno? I thought we had them all here in vegas :D Glad all is well and you just have the small dent. Looks like it might just need a new skin...if that even. Sucks to be the other guy.

I had a similar incident happen to me. One morning on my way to work some woman was following me too close and talking on her cell phone. Traffic came to a quick stop, I stopped and she ran into the back of me. Her hood caught the bottom of my spare and crumpled it pretty goood. My only damage was a scuff on my tire cover I had at the time.

I've been hit from behind a couple of times and each time about 6 to 12 months later the tranny has gone out so I'm going to have it inspected.

I was the front vehicle in a 6 car pileup, (stopped at a red light not my fault  ) PT Cruiser behind me was towed off the road, well they were all towed away , cop kept asking me why I was there and what happened to the vehicle that the PT Cruiser hit!! slight amount of dirt knocked off the bottom of the spare tire on mine. That was over 50,000 miles ago and no problems yet, have a slight wrinkle in the gate but you really have to know where it is.
Oh and I love trailer hitches that stick out past the tire!

I would say that thing is totaled. haha, check out its hub caps.

Glad the liberty took the hit well. I would say a new gate is well over $1,000 though. :?

Yoda? Is that you?

Anyway, I love how sturdy these vehicles are. Glad you got off fairly easy and that the other got was held accountable.

Ajustor came by today and said a new tail gate and rear bumper. He even said an after market bumper might be cheaper. So any ideas guys let me know.

Im assuming their billing the other guys insurance for replacement parts, I would go to some very well respected auto body shops and get estimates they do it for free. than submit those estimates take the check and do it yourself than you could get a rock lizard bumper

I had that fantasy once, but with my luck i'd probably be rear-ended by a Kenworth.
