So im looking at getting some so i can have a little more clearence on the inside of my fenders mostly during turning i get a little rub even with my fenders chopped. Parked with the wheel turned all the way left i have maybe 1" clearance from my washer bottle..

Does anyone ahve any thoughts on these wheel spacers http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-7_32__Wheel_Spacers-491.aspx

good bad will it cause undue stress to other parts

thanks for input

I've no experience with that type or brand of spacer, but here's my two cents worth. If you're running OE wheels, then 7/32 is a thin spacer. You may be looking for thicker ones. I have Spidertrax 1-1/4" spacers all around with original wheels, and they work great. They're anodized aluminum and have a good rep for reliability.

DO NOT EVEN THINK OF USING THOSE! They are just cast and very weak, will crack under your wheel and then the wheel will be loose.
If you want spacers only one will do, Spidertrax, the best, of course for the price you can buy new wheels. But think of it do you want something cheap behind /holding your wheels on??

Best just to get new rims with less back spacing. With spacers you will now have 40 lugnuts to worry about instead of 20,plus a set of black steel rims is cheaper then one pair of good spacers.

Well i got pretty kickass wheels now their 16x8 Incubus offroad, their a composite alloy so very light and strong. I just get a little rub so im trying to get the tire a little farther away from the washer bottle so i dont take it out.

So my options are

1. get a spacer to offest for the drag in on the lift
or
2. move the washer bottle and trim more fender. If i go option 2 anyone got any suggestions on where to put the washer bottle

what backspacing do you have on those, with spacers they are going to be way out there, making things even worse I bet

X2

Having 16x8 rims is what is causing all your rub and will only get worse if you space them out more. The best sized rims for a KJ is a 15x7 or 16x7 rims with 4"-4.5" of backspacing for the least rubbing when running upto 32" tires.

Hmmm interesting I have 31's on their now I only get rub on the passenger side when full turned to the the left, they do stick out over my fender wells now.

I get no rub or connection on the inside of the wheel with any parts even when wheeling, its just on full turn to the left..

So ive been trying to figure out how to eliminate that I could do a higher lift im only running a 2" now but even than it pulls the tire in more with a higher lift

any suggestions?

Not to thread jack, but what would it take to make these...
Is there anyone out there (tjkj) that could shoot me the correct measurements of hole placement?
After that, wouldnt it just be something like studs, and some lugs?

Obviously I (by I, I mean my Uncle) would be using the proper tools to mill out the AL, but I have no idea where I would find the proper hole placement, and I am too lazy to find them.

I've had a couple beers tonight so any of this could be wrong. Someone correct any errors, please?

the hole pattern is 5 holes on a 4 1/2" circle so drill ten holes on a 4 1/2 circle, flat countersink five of them on one side, deep enough for the lugs. I believe they're a 1/2"-20tpi lug but, you could always buy lug nuts to match. On the other side of the spacer, you need to taper countersink deep enough for the original lug nuts. Of course in order to do it this way, the spacer has to be wider than the length that the lugs stick out from the rotor. take a wheel off and you'll see what you need to measure for the inside and outside diameters of the spacers.

Thx, you know, I never knew what the 5 by X number meant. I used to go through wheels, fast as heck, with other car. I knew it was 5 lugs, but I never really cared what the second number was. As long as I had it right, it never mattered.
I am so freaking tired tonight.

But thank you again. I am going to talk to my uncle when we go hunting this saturday. I will let you know what he says.

You're welcome. Let us know how it works out. I looked into it awhile ago and for the cost of the aluminum through my work, it would have been about the same price to just buy them from Spidertrax. I opted for 4 $37.50 steel rims.

Maybe so, but I think he would probably be using the scrap that they "the money bucket buisness that he works at." would normally throw out. Or, he will be using it for practice with one of the machines. He tends to practice with other things. He made my sister a cut out of Mickey Mouse one year. On some kind of laser cutting machine they have. It turned out really well.
Then he made a silouette of a deer, for one of our random contests that we had once a year. Oh, and a fish.
I should dig up some pics of these things. huh.?

jsc, I got them locally from a guy who ordered the wrong size online. They're Cragar Soft 8s 16"x8" with 5" backspacing (IIRC)

MNKK, yeah some pics would be nice. I wish we had lasers. If I ever transfer to Grand Junction, I'll have access to a CNC plasma.

lets see you have a company that has designed and built wheel spacers for years, they know what works and what doesn't and then you have a company that makes other things but will just do a set without maybe really knowing about clearances/ hub cetric design etc
I know who I am going to trust my ride with going 75 MPH down the road

One more reason I've never attempted to make my own, even though I run machines completely capable of making them.
