Well, the 2 hour install actually took 9 hours and no job is completely without shedding a little blood. Check check and check. The old line of anything will fit with the right amount of persuasion is true and is show downstairs in my garage.

That turning signal took a little while and a BFH but got it to work. In the end it was just the welded bracket to hold the light in place that was off by about 1/4 inch. Key term was, lol. After that it started to go a little smoother. Also apparently I have the strength of Hercules as I snapped a bolt in half while trying to tighten it, lol. I didn't think I was applying that much force but *shrug* guess so. Main thing is I got it all on, the only thing that I am a little dissapointed at is that the bumper does not slip in under the headlights like the old one, there is about a 1/2" gap which bugs me a little but what can you do?

I will post some pictures tomorrow I am too spent tonight :)

Thank you all for your help especially you Tom. I don't care what the others say about you, your ok in my book...well close to Ok :D jk

Sorry everyone, they would have been up earlier but the site was not responding so I went out and did a few errands. Kirk, don't get stuck yet, I don't have a winch installed....yet :)
Here are the promised pics. I will post some more next weekend, we are hitting some trails on Saturday most likely :)

Luckily I still had my original front from a few years ago...well I swapped it out around 4-5 years now, lol. In the end I ended up with the original.
Me working on the beast...

and the final pic I have from the install...

Note the space there under the headlight. I tried everything I could to butt it up again the grill but it would not move anymore. I checked under neither and it is right up against the xmember so I have no clue. I have a few more things to add to it which will happen in the next...month maybe two then it will be finished.
Oh and Tom, you are right about drilling and cutting, once you get over that first, oh crap I am gonna cut what off, it gets very easy to chop the hell out of it, lol. Also I agree too with the once you drill it is really your jeep. When I was drilling for the xmember I thought, oh great then once I was doing it, I thought, hey this is kind fun...then I had to try to keep myself in check and not drill holes everywhere, lol.

Over all I do think I might have gotten a bum bumper with a few QC issues but I am not going to take it off anytime soon, lol. Perhaps sometime if Seth comes on out this way to go wheeling we can all hook up for some QC checks :D, I know not the thing anyone would want to do when on vacation but worth a shot.

The last thing I want to do today is work in the wheel well on the passanger side near the water bottle...I have just a bit of rubbing so I need to trim it or I was debating heating it up with a torch and bending the wheel well back into the metal bottle guard.

Those of you that do have ARB bumpers and if you can, please post a pic of a close up of the lines near the grill, I am curious just how far off mine are.
Thanks :)

take it off.....rattle can spray paint everything under the headlights black or your body color so it won't show the gap so bad. Looks good! 8)

One thing I forgot to mention is that when you trim the inner fender, if you use tin snips it is a lot easier than a keysaw....at least it was for me.

Xodius, what winch are you planning to put in there?

M8000 with roller fairlead. From everything that i have read and talking to Hood that would be one of the better choices. It is actually already on order and should arrive....if not Friday then probably the following Monday or Tuesday. So the 17th/18th I will install that little bugger to the bumper. I may install some extra lights at that time too. I saw some at the local Autozone Hela 500s for only 74.99 which looked like a good deal, that is for 2 with all the wiring and switch. Sounded very cheap to me.

Man that one picture shows a happy bumper owner!
Tried taking a picture and dead batteries in the camera! Will take one tomorrow but mine is right up against the bottom of the grill under the headlights.

Looking good though  Good job!

Looks good! Mine fits the same way. I tried everything to get it flush with the grille, but it wasn't possible. I don't see any fog light shrouds in the pics. You've probably got em and haven't put em on yet. But there should be two of them, basically plastic tubs that you cut the bottom out of and silicone onto the fog light openings.

Looks friggin' sweet! That gives me "bumper fever" bad  . Very nice work there. As others have said, give those gaps a shot of paint and they will go away. I have done that on a few of my vehicles before. Congratulations on a very nice addition.

What bumper are you going with? Maybe a RL to match your rear RL? I’m waiting to see what the RL bumper looks like before I make my final decision. I do like the fact that the ARB houses the winch whereas the RL will be a removable winch mount. Both have their advantages….. Oh, It’s such a tough world that we live in, all these difficult choices that we have to make……
