tried to find some pictures of how mine looks under the headlights, I have hardly any room at all, but not one good shot. Here are a couple though to maybe compare, yes I cut my right side fender a little high, was a real reason for it at the time

I was just in the garage cutting the fog light shrouds. I did not put them on yet because of the winch. I have a feeling I am going to have to take the sucker off to install it and well...that is just one less thing to remove to get the bumper off :)

I do love the bumper though and am glad to hear the mine is not the only one that fits that way. Thank you Jeepskate. On the shaker can paint...what black would you go with? I honestly know virtually nothing about spray paint. Is there a specific one or better one to use around the radiator and transmission cooler?

I like the RL bumpers too but the time frame was not an option to me, even though they do make a great product. For my rear bumper I might just have to make my own or modify one that is out there...time will tell. Kirk can you weld

What bumper are you going with?

At the moment my plan is to wait for the RL. I really like the fact that it will be winch convertible. I can't afford one right now anyway so I am content to sit tight. I really like that it will be skinned with 1/8" to make it a little lighter too. I would even think about swapping out my HD rear for one of the lighter ones that they are considering to start making. I have the factory tow package anyway so there is no real need to have two receivers in the back. Time will tell.

Kirk can you weld

I actually can. I was a steel fitter in a previous life. I have been keeping my eye out for cheap, quality, used MIG welder (I know. I'm not asking for much there huh?). But I can tell you one thing for sure. My welds will never be as nice as the ones that the boys from RL put down. By the time I bought a welder and the materials and spent the time laying it out, mocking it up, cutting the parts, cleaning up the welds and prepping for paint and then painting it; I would be into it for more money than it would cost me to buy a HD RL (not to mention the time involved). Still, I think about it sometimes. . .

hmmm Kirk, if you are going to get rid of your RL HD rear bumper let me know :) I might just be interested. It would be a second hitch for me also but would give me the chance to get the tire off the rear door.

Powdrdaze...are your turn signals right up against the bumper? Mine sit back a bit.

Tom, what WAS the reason for the high cut? You trying to show off a little more leg? :D

I am pretty happy with how it turned out and it seems every time I head into the garage to look at it, which is a lot, I like it even more.

Mine sit back just a hair, you can kinda see it in the photo. They don't sit flush, but no real gaps. By the look of your photos it's sittin pretty. Looks good! 8) You are gunna notice a lot more looks  from other liberty drivers.

I know what I want for Chirstmas now....

Question... how far does the ARB stick out compared to the stock bumper? Has anyone ever had any issues with the bumper when hitting an incline or going downhill?

Issues with the bumper hitting? No does better than stock, when out with others with stock bumpers and about same tires/lift etc no difference at all maybe better really, great bumper

I think it does stick out further...maybe about...2-3" which is for the winch. Have not gone wheeling yet so will have to let you know Sunday :) Saturday we are headed out Caching and I am planning on hitting some more interesting areas...at least that is the plan so far. :) Get it, you will like it! Just don't count on an easy install :)

The ARB cuts down on your approach angle as compared to something like the RL front bumper (which will soon make its guest appearance). On a few obstacles, I saw where a KJ could have cleared a rock if the ARB wasn’t sticking out so much. If you want a better approach angle, then the RL front bumper would be superior over the ARB. However, there is one catch. The ARB can house a winch whereas the RL is a winch convertible bumper. And as far as stock is concerned, the ARB has a better approach angle unless if you significantly trim your stock bumper.
