steering wheel controls with aftermarket deck?

Is there anyway to maintain function of the steering wheel buttons when using an aftermarket cd deck? i have a pioneer...

this would be VERY cool...

you will need something like this http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=118900&i=127SWIX&tp=476 but not all aftermarket head units are compatible
