I think you should have the cops charge the guy with assault, that's crazy.
My daughter goes to college here, and her two children, 5 and 8 years old go to school across the street from her college.
A couple of months back, she was stopped at a stop light and some dumb booty woman rear ended her going about 30 MPH and pushed her car into the car in front of her. She had a 2000 Ford Focus, and it totaled it.
So her insurance company gave her some money and I gave her some money and she bought a new 2009 Scion XB.
So a couple of weeks ago, she's driving along the same road after school, and stopped at another stop light. Another person rear ends her new Scion.
It didn't do much damage, and it was very heavy traffic, so the other girl hands my daughter a piece of paper and says that it's her phone number to call her to get things taken care of. Yeah, yeah, I have given her a huge big ole sermon on what to do after any kind of accident.
Anyway, she calls the number and it turns out to be a false number. However, the girl hit the Scion hard enough that it left her entire license plate number embedded in the Scion bumper LOL. You can read it perfectly all except for the last number.
My daugter calls the police, and they say there's nothing they can do since it's all after the fact, blah blah..
Last week, my daughter is at school and sees the girl sitting at a computer in one of the labs. She asks to exchange information with the girl, and she refuses. She refuses to show her a drivers license, giver her a name or an insurance carrier.
My daughter gets the girls name from the computer and even gets the girls student I.D. number. Then she figures that if the girl is in school, her car should be there somewhere. Sure enough, she found it parked just off campus and took pictures of the car, uncluding the license plate. Now she knows the last number is a 7.
I called and spoke with the police department watch commander and told him what happened. Within 30 minutes, I received a call from the PD accident investigator. He says that the girl broke the law and they will take care of it for us.
I need to get one of those hooks and put in my trailer hitch. I have a big ole ball, but the thing is a bit too big, but I bet it would help protect from a rear end collision.
