Anyone know if this will fit in a Libby??

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/p ... 19,00.html

Crutchfield says it will not, but that doesn't mean they are correct...

They are most likely correct. The KJ size is a Din and a Half. That looks like its bigger than that.

The Pioneer website lists it as a 1.5 DIN CD Player, as my topic title states....

Your right. I think the issue is the face wont fit. The liberty's rounded corners most likely makes it hard to fit unless you square off the corners of the radio opening.

My Din sized alpine head unit looks fine with the mounting hardware. I'm pretty sure you could not get anything larger to fit, though.

crutchfield is correct. although the libby uses a din and a half opening, the 1.5 din decks are not a direct fit because of the trim piece around the streo. you could trim the trim piece (make it a bit larger) so the head unit would fit, but that would proabably end up looking like arse.

the selection of 1.5 din units basically sucks anyways. when considering features/etc you are better off going with a single din unit anyways.

Not only the selection, but the price! That deck listed is $335! For $335 you can get an awful lot of power, quality, and features from a 1 din deck.... I think I only spent maybe $250 on mine, and it's an Alpine 50W/channel or so, mp3 playing, all the bells and whistles. The fit kit they provide looks great, too, if that's what you're worried about

The problem isn't so much the shape of the opening but the mounting depth. That Pioneer HU is huge and it just won't fit because of the KJ's shallow dashboard.

I doubt the kj's dashboard to be small. The problem is that there is too much crap back there but if you take the time and look through them and familiarize yourself with them, you can re-route some of the wires and make more room. in my KJ ive got a JVC dvd player in the dahsboard with 2 monitors' wires being run from in there. I think ive got about a 5 feet of thick rca cable and power cables running back there.
In conclusion, its hard but not impossible

Like your install in the Liberty. That's an awful hefty cable to go to through the door. The wire to my sat antanna is only about 18 gage at most. What the deal with that one?

I like the flash light setup and here is what you need to really make that Maglite shine. Maglight 3W LED I bought the 5w conversion that they use to have and it is fantastic. It was a total kit to allow for a 2D or 2C to use Lithium batteries with the LED for $59, but I guess they sold them all as they are none listed on the site today.
