Although me and my family had some bad experience with the dealer in the past, I decided to let them do the job. The reason being that should something go wrong, I have more leverage to force them to fix it.

Ha! Don't you wish. What makes you think that you have more leverage over them than any other shop?

Because we're in the system as quote VIP since my dad owns a large local business and bought two vehicles there.
Im pretty sure they're also scared of him because he raised extreme hell once or twice when his Jeep wasnt fixed on time.

Yeah, good luck with that. My wife and I are also VIP customers and frequently get reminders in the mail such as $5.00 off of an oil change. How many folks here have bought more than 2 Chrysler vehicles and have a nightmare story to tell about getting satisfactory service from the dealer? :-)r

Today is Thursday and I called them yesterday to make sure the vehicle would be ready by friday the latest. She told me that the part hadnt come in yet (I dropped the vehicle off monday) and she wasnt really sure when it would be there. I said I didnt care about all that and that I would come over friday afternoon to drive home in a jeep, which one I dont care.

This morning I get a call and they asked about my lug nut key. So apparently they got started on it today.

Alright so I went all out and got the entire rack replaced, which ended up costing $1300. But wow what a difference, the Jeep drives like new, or even better. Steering is much stiffer now and nothing feels loose. No more bump steer either.

When they put it back together they also adjusted the lower a arm or control arms, whatever you call. They moved them further inward which gave me more lift in the front, and it sits 100% level now. I guess they did that in order to be able to align it better.
