OK, I'm gonna let my ignorance show for a bit here. I have noticed water coming from the jeep when I have not been running the AC so I tracked it down. There is a tube, under the hood, on the passenger side of the firewall that comes out and bends down and that is where the water is coming from. What is this pipe?

Is the pipe open at one end or does it attach to something. the only pipe that comes to mind is the AC drain.

Have you been running the defroster? I bet you have from your location and that also activates your A/C.

Or you could have a heater core leak.

This thing??

Not sure, but I think it drains the water from the cowl after it rains.

That is the A/C drain, the cowl drains right down the inside of the fender.

That looks like it except mine sticks out about 4 inches then bends down. I have been running the defroster.. so nothing to worry about then right??

How about a complete answer  The AC compressor runs in all positions of the dial except OFF, RECIRCULATE and VENT only. All other positions of the dial including the BI-LEVEL vent and floor positions. Said another way, all dial positions clockwise from and including stright up cause the compressor to run.

This is a feature that will dry out say the floor mats and carpet after you track snow in
If you don't like it there's a mod where you can hack the switch to change it 8)

That is not true for all models years of the KJ,what you said only holds true for '05+ KJ's.The A/C compressor only runs of defrost,defrost/floor,and the 2 A/C posistions on '02-'04 KJ's.

This is correct. And Joe, Im kinda confused why you said the A/C doesnt run in the RECIRCULATE position. Since the 2005+ controls are different this may be why there is a confusion. That position is the only position you can run the A/C and have inside air on the 2002-2004 liberty.

Here you go jeremesh:

That is the drain for the A/C and yes, water will come out if you ever use the A/C or the defrost.
