Sorry to hear about your .... oops for a lack of a better word. But where in the world did you find a replacement tranny pan for $11?
Something similar happen to me and I might be needing one.

Stealer, I ordered two. One to fix the problem for now and one to experiment on.

Do you have the part number?

Well there lies a problem there JJ,there just is not a good way to mount a trans skid plate when you SFA.Getting rid of that rear crossmember on the engine cradle just leaves no good/strong place to mount the front end of a trans skid and that driveshaft does not make it any easier.RL and myself have looked and it seems we're going skidless there also.

I have no worries since almost 90% of all the TJ/YJ/CJ/XJ guys here in CO wheel there Jeeps without a trans skid and hardly here of any problems, and most run some of the nastiest trails often with no problems(not so true with axles though).

What if you made one long skid plate that covered the tranny and engine. It could use the existing front, front skid plate mount and the transfer case cross member to tie into. It would have to be very strong though to cover that distance without supports in the middle.

Those cross members are gone when you go sfa. (unfortunately)

I can't answer for the others, but TJ's have a tranny skid stock (autos obviously), just not an oil pan skid. I do not know any TJ guys running with out a tranny skid on autos, a few that run with out the oil pan skid though. Tranny skids are EXTREMELY important on a TJ with an auto. You will hit it. Oil pan not as much so. Now as far as the standards go many people do not run the skids, but really you don't have a vulnerable pan hanging down on them. Not so important then.

Nope. of course i can't find the darn receipt now :? ..... anyhow, ordered it by year and last 8 of the VIN...... told them what trans and all but they "have to have the vin to get the right one".... typical dealer statement.

Not gonna happen,......I'm shiftless. Besides, I wheel w/ folks w/ manuals and it is always exciting and interesting watching them struggle through obstacles that I just walk through.

it's the complete opposite with me. i get throught things in one try while people with automatics take multiple try's if they can even get through. i think i depends on the driver because i was at the badlands with other libertys with way better tires and it was taking them several attempts at most of the obstacles while me just one try. (except when i missed a shift going up a hill)

I bought a spare one when I bashed mine in, but since then I've skidded up to the point where (knock on wood) I don't think I'll need it. I't's yours for the price of a six pack!

I'm a rebel!? :? Oh and couldn't afford to be the guinea pig while All J's figured out a skid for it. Of course now maybe allyrand and I both should press them into working on one. Unless Rock Lizard can come up w/ something that we can use on our setups too??

come on JJ, bring it up and we'll figure out a skid ;) It can't be that hard.........

I think I'm just gonna hang one (3/16" plate) off the front of the belly pan going forward under the trans pan. It won't have any support on the leading edge but if it gets hit w/ a rock it will just push up into the pan, can't dent it that way and should work well enough. It can only bend up about a 1/2 inch and then hits the pan and stops bending. the load of the hit will be spread across the whole bottom of the pan. Better than putting a hole in the pan at least.

That's what I did. We zapped a plate to the front end of it and connected it to something forward of it for ridgidity; can't remember what, though.
Worked pretty good until it broke off on the ill fated second Rubi run when I tried Lil Sluice. Not smart... that's what killed the front housing, too though. At least I didn't roll it in there.... but that was the end of Ole Girl for me.
