Thinking of going with 4:56 gears with aussie lockers front and rear. Will be running 32 inch bfg M/T. Will this be to much gearing?

4.10 would be great, but for re-gearing you are talking about $1200, for the gears, master overhaul kits and gear oil and labor

the aussie locker wont work in the D30a, you can only get the Aussie for the C8.25 for the D30a you only have two choices, DTT and ARB

They don't make 4.56's for KJ front diff's - 4.10 is it and you have to buy those from Mopar.

You can do a DTT front & ARB rear. You could run a DTT/Aussie ( or powertrax no slip) combo if you wanted or a DTT/Detroit Locker combo or a.... there are many options.

Also, there are other sources for the gears if you look around. Getting them ordered may be an issue, but they are out there.

Here is one source:

Good luck.

ARB-$800

REAR:
Detroit TrueTrac-$500
Detroit Locker-$550
ARB-$800
Aussie/ Powertrax-$300/ $460

you would just to pick and choose and it will work, and those prices are about right, the only prices Im not sure about are the ARB b/c I cant afford them so I havent looked into them

One of the wiser founding fathers of LOST once posted his best to use front and rear combinations that he thought would work best together
F= Front
R=Rear
1. ARB (F) ARB (R)
2. DTT (F) ARB (R)
3.ARB (F) DTT (R)
4. DTT (F) DTT (R)
5. DTT (F) Powertrax (R)

may give you something to consider :wink:

You will also want to find out if you have the trac-lok rear diff. If you do you will not be able to use the aussie locker. Also, It might not be wise to use an automatic locker in the front of a daily driver. That would be dangerous. Remember, you have to steer your vehicle from the front. If both front wheels become locked at the same speed it will make it very difficult to turn and in an emergency situation that could be costly. If you want a locker in the front use a selectable like arb.

Next summer if i get to do the locker thing i'd like to do DTT front with a DL or arb rear. i'd like an arb (more versatile) but to save some coin the DL works too.
