I've done a ton of decals so listen up!
Anyway, all kidding aside, it's best to adhere them when the temp is in the 70s or better. (heated garage maybe)
1. Thoroughly clean the area decal will be applied to, it's suggested u remove wax but I have found that as long as the area is totally clean u are ok.
2. Take a spray bottle, fill with warm to almost hot water and a couple of drops of dish detergent, mix in so u get a little foam on top.
3. Spray the soapy mixture totally and generously over the area the decal will be applied to. You want it kinda slimy to the touch.
4. While the area is wet and slippery apply the decal (which should be stuck to the upper piece of paper to hold it in place)
This "slimy wetness" will allow u to pull up the decal if necessary w/o it sticking permanently (usually takes me about 3 tries to get the first one on the way I like it.) If u do pull up the decal and paper, rewet the area.
5. LEAVING THE PAPER IN PLACE, use a squegee of some sort (I usually use a wet washcloth to start then move to something which is like a credit card but a little more flexible/softer, car places sell these squegges for about $1.) to squegee out the bubbles and water from under the decal. As u do this the paper will get saturated allowing you to see how well u need to continue squegeeing to remove bubbles.
6. After u are satisfied,
let everything dry where it is (paper still on top) Here's where I usually get impatient and try to pull up the paper. Since u used soapy water the decal will tend to lift off of the paint. LET IT DRY BEFORE REMOVING PAPER.
7. When u can lift one edge of the paper with the decal remaining behind, u can SLOWLY remove the paper. I tend to find that using the squegee card in one hand behind the paper as I pull it up with the other hand produces better results.
If u squegeed enough you should have no air bubbles in the decal which is left behind.
This technique is actually very simple and works great. You may want to try it on a small experimental decal on your glass so u can scrape it off later.
Have fun!
