Depends on the tire and wheel used, besides being taller and wider the overall weight difference will kill your mpg's also.

Regear to 4.10's and it'll lessen the mpg drop.

I ran 255-70s for about 24000 miles and didn't notice that much difference over the previous ones maybe a 1/2 mile or so but they were also a very light weight tire, olny like 30/32 lb each
so far mines had
235-70 stock junkyears
245-70 before I lifted and a while afterwards
255-70
and now for two days
265-70
but going to 4.10s as soon as I can

not sure only went ten miles will do a real check over Thanksgiving when I do a 1700 mile loop !
The 255-70 is about a half inch shorter than the 245-75 that most run just some wider so mileage should be on par with them. Like I said a lot depends on the weight as well

No but then I have the ARB out front , but no rubbing at all if you check the pictures section there is a pic posted with the 255-70s but keep in mind I also have the 16X8 Maobs with 5 inch of backspacing which changes everything from the stock wheels

what do you think the best tire with little rubbing for me.... i cannot get the 245/75/16 because it is a 10 ply tire and weighs a ton so right now im looking at the 265/70 and the 255/70 if you have any others without rubbing or killing mileage let me know and if you have any of these sizes let me know how you feel about them

245/75/16's don't have to be 10 ply - you can get SL, B,C load grades.
from Mileage 2 issues - 1 obviously is weight,
the 2nd is that the taller tire changes the effective rearend ratio -
so it will get worse mileage unless you drive mainly highway

I rubbed a bit with my 31x10.5x15 tires on 15" steel wheels with 3.75" backspacing. Not too bad though.

im sorry about all the questions but would it rub on the stock bumper because you have an aftermarket bumper...and what do you think about 265/70/16?

I don't rub at all now, I did a little on the stock one, so I cut it down to where it stopped and then put the bumper on. I still think your best bet is a 245/75/16 with a properly back spaced wheel.
