I’m having trouble deciding if I should use my Moabs 16x8 or stock 17X7 rims for off-roading?

I'd use the Moabs for every day use and the stocks for offroading.

Not many good offroad tires available in 17" sizes. I would use Moabs for offroading and the stockers for daily use.

you can air down lower with a 7" than an 8" - the narrower rim will hold the bead better.

I will be using stock size for off road , and Moabs for the street main reason is the width of the Moabs is not that good for stuffing the tire in the wheelwell

Is there enough back spacing on my factory rims to allow a 245/70/17 tire fit without rubbing on the sway bar?

if you can fit Moab's with MT/R's under it than those 17's should fit too

with 5 inches of backspacing you will have rubbing on the fender wells when fully flexed with Moabs (depending on size of course)so stock wheels would be better , plus I think Moabs are better looking than the stock
