I found on Rusty's Offroad a D30/Chrysler 8.25 Combo 4.10 has anyone used this kit from Rusty's? Looks like i will also need a new carrier as well. doesn't seem like a bad price $430 for the combo and $70 for the carrier. thoughts comments would be very helpful. . .

What are you putting it in?

It will not work in a KJ. They use a D30A which has a longer pinion than a D30.

A couple of places make D30A gears. I've not looked at the JBA ones, but I would assume that they were specifically for the KJ. Someone will wander by shortly with an answer, probably.

04jeepkj, I’m also looking for gears. I saw the ones on the JBA website, but I haven’t been able to find a “final” answer either. I’ll try to give him a call tomorrow and find out.

Richmond Ring & Pinion 4:10

Motive Gear Ring & Pinion 4:10

The website says that some “WILL NOT FIT” in the KJ front but doesn’t say anything about the rear.

Let me know what kind of answer you get if you don't mind. . . I also go to try and find a locker for the rear. Its hard to try and call around being out here in Iraq and finding a direct answer online is like finding two needles in a hay stack. . .

Oh, wow, I didn't realize that you were overseas. THANK YOU for serving our country!
What rear locker are you considering?

Thanks. . . I am not sure which one i want to go with just yet. . . I have Auburn E lockers in the LJ and they work pretty well, and i don't know if the ARB air locker is going to be worth the trouble unless the compressor is big enough i could use it to air up tires.

I’m going ARB in the front and rear. If you get the ARB CKMA12 Compressor, then you can also buy the optional tire inflation kit. Product description: “Included with the kit is an air hose with a quick-disconnect air chuck and all the necessary hardware required to install the kit to your ARB air compressor. When equipped with the tire inflation kit, the ARB air compressor is capable of inflating a 33x12.50 tire from 15-32 p.s.i. in 4.5 minutes.”

Cause if i do the gears i want to do the locker(s) at the same time. not sure if i want to lock the front. Plus its between doing the gears and locker and the 4" lift. they both are coming eventually and might as well do it when the KJ isn't going to be driven as much, the kj is staying at my dad's place while i am out here. So plenty of time for more mods.
Besides he has his toys to have fun in. . .

I have the NP 242 (Selet-Trac), therefore I want to be able to fully lock or unlock depending on what I’m doing (4WD Part-time or 4WD Full-time). I’m also wanting to do the gears at the same time. It will take me a while to afford all the individual parts and at this rate it might take just as long to find 4:10’s.   I’m going to have Josh at http://www.crawlertech4x4.com/ install all my junk. I figured since he sells ARB that I might get a better deal on all the parts, labor, and his rear CRANE differential cover. :D

What i would really like to do is save up and get the gears lockers and lift kit all at once and let http://www.jeffdanielsjeeps.com/
have the KJ for a few days. Just gotta find the right gear combo and locker(s). which i hope will be soon.
