My rear wiper started slowing down and now does not work. Anyone have a similar problem?

Is it just a slipping nut or do you think the motor is shot? My warranty is up so I'd like to fix it myself.

I had the same thing hapening to my 03 KJ, I found that water and dirt entered via the little axle into the inside parts.
I soaked it in WD40 from the outside and it worked normal again, after that I took the wiper off and the outer asembly, I cleaned it and I put a big blob of axle grease under the protective cap to stop water entering and to keep things greased up.
6 Months later and it is still working fine.

My brother also never uses his rear wiper.

I find it pretty handy in traffic when its raining. I like to see what idiots behind me are doing but I never leave it on all the time. Usually just turn it on when I feel like it.

I have a small personal problem.......everyone add their own remarks now  but I hate to see a vehicle with all the marks across the back glass from the wipers so have never used one

and now back to our regular programming

That's why I don't use mine and never will. It's been frozen up (not working) since I bought the Jeep.

My back glass has no wiper marks when it's clean.

Too bad it's rarely clean

I use mine often, heck sometimes even in the TJ.................lol I have never had a problem with them working, so I am of no help there.

As a matter of fact when I am in the Jag when its raining I am always looking for that rear wiper swicth that doesn't exist. I guess once you get used to having them its a nice thing to have.
