This is taken at the shop before anything has been done:
Image

Here is the bumper and the winch that will be on next week:
Image

The KJ is on the lift and ready to start. The instructions are very good and easy to follow. In step # 2 it tells about using the nut plates (2). We found that when fitting the bumper the nut plates would move so that the bolts could not get into the nuts. These plates go into the space behind the black bumper cups. The fix was to go ahead and put the bolts into the nut plates so they couldn't move then spot weld the plate in place. Then remove the bolts and continue following the instruction. See pic below:
Image

The plastic bumper (crappy) is off here:
Image

On step #5 it tells to drill holes and elongate them. Pay attention and do it. That is an important thing to do as we found out! The rest of the install was a breeze, just follow the instructions. I could NOT time how long it took because of at least 20 interruptions by phone calls and add to that 5 or 6 people walking in with questions.

Here is a before (left) and after shot:

Looks GREAT! Glad it all worked out hopefully Crash will get his stuff together and be able to produce them at a reasonable rate maybe at a lower price too so I can afford one!

Terry, you really need to straighten that passenger side PIAA light. Just looks crappy that way! BTW, nice bumper! (can I have your old one so I don't have to cut mine?)

I was hoping nobody would notice that light guard! Should have known better! I was going to keep the old bumper and offer it for the shipping cost. But, I figured nobody would want it. With this crew...who knows!

Everyone that has seen it at the 4X4 shop were very impressed with how it was made. The shop specializes in Toyota's and highly discourage Jeep people so it was especially nice when they were talking up my KJ and offering to have me go on rides with them. The owner of Aggressive Off Road, Ted, has a Toyota pickup, pretty old one, with a Chevy V-8 in it that produces between 550 and 600HP on $8.00/Gal racing fuel. It has either 47" or 49" tires and 2 transfer cases plus a ton of other goodies.

The side marker lights are the way they came, I didn't do anything to them. The winch plate will be bolted to the top of the bumper. I'll have to post pictures when it's done. I can't really explain how how he is going to do it.

Powder Coat to match the KJ. I went out and measured to see how much height I lost. It was about 3/4". I figure that isn't to bad.

Those shackle tabs need to be at least twice as thick. Sharp looking bumper though. Are you going to clevis the front to get back the 3/4"?
