Senior moments seem to come my way a lot these days! I'm talking about the back ones by the way. I just want to try to back track where they came from. BTW, I love how the 4.10's work compared to the stock 3.73's!

Yes, I would say a big difference. It seems to have more guts now.

How hard is it to install the 4.10 gears on the Liberty? Is it something the average Joe can do or not?

NO! you need to do backlash, your better off to take it somewhere and have it done properly

for a front and rear re-gear roughly $500, depending on how much you can talk them down, its the front diff that kills you bc it is more time consuming bc you have to remove it from the vehicle

It only cost me $200.00 for both! :D He even spent a LOT of time on the rear one because it makes a clicking noise when I slow down. From 20 down to 10 is the only time it does it. He reset them 3 different times trying to get rid of the click. He never did.

$200 is a deal and a half. I think the front axle alone is like 6 hours of labor and the rear is 2 or 3. So at like $75 an hour for labor, do the math...

Take the front diff out yourself to save some money on labor.. Toss it in the back and drive in as a 2wd. Then put it back in when you get home..

..Just a thought.

The quote was for the JK. I'm perfectly content with the 3.73's pushing 265's on the KJ. The JK w/4.10's will feel every bit of the 35's though.
