March "scenic Road Rallies" 4x4 cruise...SE Indian

This is from a post on my camaro club forum. The group is the Scenic Road Rallies LLC, they put on about 15-18 road rallies per year. First up is the Northwest passage 4x4 rally in March which is about a 4-5 hr drive through the rough backwoods roads and trails of Southeast Indiana. It is also a scavenger hunt along the way, winners get prizes at the end. It's open to the first 50 vehicles and it can be any road legal 4x4 or 4x2. No major four wheelin, but thought maybe someone in the greater Cinci area/Indy maybe could be interested. I have friends that have went, had a ball, I will most likely be in my Tahoe or ridin shotgun in my buddy's Ford truck.

OK anyone want to go, I am going to send in my reservation this afternoon if anyone else is up for it, its 4 or 5 hours away from me and nothing hard core but should be just a fun day!!! Would go down the night before and hang out and be rested!! :lol:

yep, im up for it. wifey gave the go ahead. camping friday night and saturday night could be cool. i'm not gonna send in a registration today, but will soon!

hmmm thats wierd. i dunno why you'd have to have two in a vehicle. o well. i need to find a rider as well

You can do 1 person, but the reason for two as you will be given maps and paperwork for the scavenger hunt, just helps having a navigator to help along the way. From what I understand, they dismiss 1 vehicle every 2-3 mins to keep from a jam up. I was planning on taking my 11 yr old son and just enjoying the drive & some light 4 wheelin', not worrying about scavenging.
Aaron, lift shouldn't take ya more than a few hours. just remember you need longer bolts for body blocks ( 130-140mm I think call Dan @ Overlands, he can help) and the two center blocks use larger bolts. Use 1/2" or even better 9/16" ubolts for axle :wink:

I agree.....would never (unless I had to) go back to a job working weekends , I feel for ya!

There are going to be 4 vehicles going from the Louisville area. I don't think I'll be able to try the rock rails out though

Is anyone else going?

I have my reservation in for it, have to find a place to stay Friday evening so I will be bright eyed and bushy tailed Saturday morning :wink:

I talked to a fellow camaro club member who went last year. most of the roads have been paved that used to be about 50% gravel, but they still have several creek crossings. We are planning to do the scavenger hunt.
Tom, you could probably stay in Lawrenceburg or Aurora right off 275, then take rte 56 into Vevay the next morning.
I should be there, not sure if I will be in a fullsize Ford or my Tahoe.
No rock rails need in our area...mostly muddin around here!
