One final note is that you will hear pros and cons with Hydraulic v. electric.

Pro is more power.
con is the vehicle does have to be running.
KJ PS pump MIGHT be strong enough, that is easily fixable, i think, but the location and tight constraints under the hood as well as, like in my case, just wont fit in the ARB bumper. If you are pulling a big booty surburban then you will need something stronger. For the KJ the M8000 is a good choice. Or the one Troy has, is even better.

Although technically an electric winch without the engine running can operate, it's effectiveness to do work will decline along with supply voltage. Batteries do not generate electricity and the current demand will drain the reserves quickly.
1 hp = 60 amps. Warn 8000 4.8hp motor = 288 amps.

It's just a matter of time ( not much) until that winch is no longer capable of 4.8 hp and the voltage sags below what the solenoids need to be energized. Ever hear that clicking starter indicating the Batt is "dead"?

I eat lunch with the R&D guys from Mile Marker and they tell me that the idea a ps pump is not big enough is BS but I don't have a big enough propeller to convey their arguements.
