My new Libby KK I bought did not have the factory Fog lights installed and I must say the head lights alone suck. I'm ordering the factory Fog lights and it comes with a new switch for the steering column. From looking over the install instructions, I could do the complete install myself except for the computer update. My local dealership wants $200 for make the update to get the new switch working or they will install everything and do the update for around $400 if i supply the parts from Mopar. My question is simply how big of a pain would this be to do it myself or should i just spend the extra $200 and let the dealership do it? or is there some key combo to activate the Fog light switch option. Since the instructions are simply to toggle on a option in a menu of the computer.

Thanks,
TK[/list]

You could put in your own toggle switch, and mount it on the dash.No computer update needed.

I looked at the install instructions and it doesn't make since why a computer update would be need. I would say install it your self and see what happens. If the computer does need to be updated, find another dealer. It should only take .5 hours or less to update the pcm. This would be o different that recalibrating for a new tire size

This is a known issue with DCX vehicles...... I knew about a guy who wanted to enable his fogs on his charger and ended up paying like 300 bucks..... ITS A STEAL!
he did the install himself and he ended up paying a lot of money to make them work.

As digger said: find another dealer!

I'm surprised. The dealership that I routinely go to for service didn't charge me anything when I needed the computer updated for the UConnect I installed myself. They just did it for me and when I asked how much to pay, they just said they did it for free. I'd suggest trying a different Jeep dealer if you can - see if they will do it for you.
